This standard enables appropriate authorities, government bodies and insurance providers all across Canada to assess the risks and determine compliance to current codes. Underwriters Laboratories of Canada
Fire alarm network installation, inspection, testing and verification must meet many ULC standards, including ULC 524, 536, 537. The Underwriters Laboratories of Canada are accredited by the Standards Council of Canada. As such, monitoring of fire alarm ULC standards aims at reducing the risk of fire, death and loss of property.

National Building Code (NBC)

The NFPA is a world recognized reference in terms of fire protection codes. The NFPA was created in 1896 by a group of insurance firms for the purposes of standardization of fire protection systems. This role, which evolved with our lifestyles and technologies, is still today the world’s corner stone of reference standards in fire protection.
