Job Description

The fire protection mechanic reports to the Director of Operations. Among other responsibilities, they will be responsible for ensuring that their installations comply with the engineer's plans while respecting the CNB, NFPA, and other applicable codes.

We're also hiring apprentices! 

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance of sprinkler systems.
  • Prepare, assemble, install, and connect piping and accessories, as well as activate, verify, and inspect systems.
  • Identify and resolve issues with the systems.
  • Complete relevant documentation for administration in collaboration with project managers.

Your Profile

  • Must hold necessary certifications (holder of a valid CCQ journeyman certificate) and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Must have a good understanding of fire prevention techniques and practices, as well as knowledge of concepts related to fire prevention laws, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Must have (ideally) up-to-date safety cards (Elevated platform, Asbestos card, Working at heights, WHMIS 2015, Articulated boom lift, Confined space, CPVC Blazemaster, Fit test).
  • Be able to work in a team and in a working group.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrate autonomy and good analytical skills.
  • Have a sense of organization.
  • Have good physical condition and be able to move heavy objects.
  • Be able to work at heights on scaffolding or elevated platform or boom lift.

Strengths

  • Be interested in rotating service for the company with provided truck on a regular basis as needed.
  • Be certified to inspect BPDs.
